In January, I posted a good option for a balance transfer credit card . In that case, I classified "good" as being able to transfer your balance not having to pay interest, while earning rewards on new purchases. Unfortunately that deal expired on February 28th. If you missed out, you may be asking what you do now?

Today, I bring you a similar card, but with a couple of extra perks. The last card was Discover, which, let's face it, can't be used everywhere you'd want it to. This card, Citibank Dividend Platinum Select MasterCard , is more universally accepted. In addition this $100 cashback reward for spending $500 in the first 3 months of opening the account. So let's say you have been brainwashed by Steve Jobs into thinking that the iPad 2 is of good value. With it coming in at $500 after tax, you could sign up for this credit card and effectively get the iPad 2 for $100 discount. That said, I'd be careful about signing up for credit cards just for the cash back. I don't want to be one of those people at my college 15 years ago offering a t-shirt or music CD for a sign up. I fortunate enough not to fall for those. Plus, they were completely overshadowed by the Playboy model hocking subscriptions.

There's a bit of fine print, which is Lazymanonite (not to be confused with the trademarked term Kryptonite) to me. I didn't see anything that drew any immediate concerns, though. Perhaps a reader who doesn't suffer from my weakness can point out any potential gotchas in that fine print.

My source on this deal says its a limited time offer, but I haven't been able to confirm how limited it is.
