Since you are local in VA i need your help. i think you sound very knowledgeable. i dont even remember having a credit card from crap one but dominion law ass. sent me a letter few months ago to my current address asking for the money that they are collecting for crap 1. i sent them a DV and pointed out 2 violations and mentioned the fines they laid low and never bothered calling back or sending another letter but just like a week ago the pulled my CR for CR extenstion /review to get an address that i lived at 2 years ago and filed a lawsuit using that address i would've never known that and they would've gotten a default judgment. luckily the landlord is a very good person and he still had my phone # he notified me that he had a warrant in debt stuck to his door with my name and a court date. i check the courts website and sure enough they filed a lawsuit(excellent way to get default judgments). now my question is what should i do in this case and if i can call you for help on few things or i can give you my number as i m always traveling due to my job and i m hardly in VA and i dont get much time to get on the computer. please help me any help would be appreciated. i m thinking of hiring a lawyer on contingency bases and sue them for six figure amount for fraudulent activity. any advise from anyone will be highly appreciated. Reply:My wife and I bought a house last year. Our first, so we needed appliances. Went to Sears, she opened a card there and we bought some nice appliances at 0% for 1 year. We had every intention of paying it off within the year, but we ran into some financial hiccups: our 1 year old was hospitalized for about 2 weeks, she was wasting away and they had to run all sorts of tests on her; our dog swallowed a corn cob whole and had to have it surgically removed (I've got pictures of it in one piece in her stomach). Needless to say that cost us quite a bit. And with the current financial uncertainty I took the opportunity to move the charges for the appliance to another 0% offer for 1 year on a Chase card to buy us some more time. I feel these offers will be going away soon. We could have paid off this account, but as a previous poster said it would eat up too much of our cash reserves and with things being so shaky right now, I just don't think it would have been smart to do that. Reply:That would be very bad since I currently have about $13K on 0% cards which I was planning to transfer to another offer when this one lapses.
