Citibank 0% Balance Transfer Offer Reduced to 18 Months
On Friday, Citi increased the length of the balance transfer offer on the Citi Diamond and Citi Platinum MasterCard from 18 months to 21 months. Today, they reduced the offer back to 18 months. This new offer is still among the longest balance transfer offers available, trailing only a limited time offer from Discover that lasts 24 months. The balance transfer fee on both the Citi Diamond and Citi Platinum Card was also increased today, from a very low 3% to a moderate 4%.
Despite the abrupt decrease in balance transfer length and increase in balance transfer fee, both Citi balance transfer cards remain extremely competitive. The slightly longer 24 month 0% balance transfer from Discover carries a 5% balance transfer fee, while many significantly shorter offers carry fees of 3% to 5%.
